Suddenly, at the command of the Grand Elders, she’s forced to enlist into the military and not just any military—the Centurion division where she meets the heir of the Nero-Drausus Clans and the Crown Prince who become her most unlikely companions. The Centurions are the Fire Reserve’s first and last line of defense making their life is expectancy much lower than the average Excelian. So, when peace of their home is threatened, Gothalia will be forced to act. Though, the question remains, will she aid them after everything they’ve done?

In the midst of the insurrections staining the streets of New Icarus; selected Cores of Centurions, Legionnaires and Cavaliers head to the Earth Reserve, following the disappearance of its only Princess they failed to shelter. Travelling to the capital city of New Eorthen is easy but the battle is bloody and desperate as they fight for the reclamation of lost lands now seized by the Xzandians and stained by its General with the blood of many. The Xzandian General easily exploits the power of the Fragment of Midnight Eclipse among the masses trapped within its borders. Even if the Shadow Reserve is aware of the deadly impact the Xzandians have on the citizens of the Earth Reserve. Will they aid in saving them or shunning them? An ultimate decision that will alter Gothalia's future and many others like her.

Before any side can ascertain it, the Excelians must be the first to capture every fragment, to ensure it doesn't fall into the wrong hands while protecting their hidden civilisation from prying eyes. Both Gothalia and Noel-Len will fight a common enemy in this war, but what happens when the real enemy was among them all along.

It’s torturous to live for Gothalia!

Being hated for existing is one thing, but being unable to define her own destiny is another. The Xzandians threaten invasion, the surface world is unaware of the impending danger and Gothalia Ignatius-Valdis is forced to become a Centurion as punishment for her parent’s rebellion. Her mission, to prevent the Xzandians from taking the Northern Earth Reserve for themselves. Normally, the sensitive and peace-loving Gothalia would avoid harming another but there’s not much she can do when her life’s on the line. Her first mission: to survive the Centurion Military Academy.
